Our Power，Our Planet

2025 marks the 55th anniversary of Earth Day, and to celebrate, EARTHDAY.ORG has launched this year’s theme: “Our Power, Our Planet.” The campaign is calling on over 1 billion people across 192 countries to come together in support of renewable energy, with the ambitious goal of tripling clean power generation by 2030. It’s all about making smarter energy choices at home and urging governments and businesses to accelerate the adoption of renewable solutions. Whether you"re switching off lights or advocating for policy change, let’s unite for a cleaner, greener future!

Greening ALTEN: Engineering a Lighter Footprint

As a global leader in engineering and IT services with nearly 60,000 employees worldwide, ALTEN places human, environmental, and sustainable innovation at the heart of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy. Since 2010, ALTEN has continuously strengthened its CSR approach and fully aligned its strategic objectives with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for sustainable development.

01 Our Objectives

ALTEN is determined to reduce its carbon footprint, setting ambitious objectives for 2030 and 2050. These objectives were validated by the Science-Based Targets initiative in 2023 and align with the Paris Agreement, reinforcing our commitment to a sustainable future. 

Short-term objectives (2030 targets) 

We have established clear near-term goals to reduce our environmental footprint:

59.8% absolute reduction in Scope 1 & 2 emissions

55.8% intensity reduction in emissions from business travel, commuting, and procurement

These ambitious targets demonstrate our proactive commitment to sustainable operations worldwide.

Long-term vision (2050 ambition) 

In 2023, ALTEN received SBTi validation for our 2050 carbon neutrality goal. This net-zero commitment underscores our active role in climate action and leadership in the transition to a low-carbon economy.

02 Our Actions

To reduce its emissions, the Group has a 4-pronged action plan: 

Renewable energies

In 2023, we reached a consumption of 12,527 mwh of renewable energies. 50% of our entities are ISO 14001 certified. 

Digital responsibility

We are implementing a digital strategy to reduce the environmental impact of ICTs, by minimizing software consumption and promoting responsible data management. 

Sustainable mobility

Travel represents a significant share of our emissions; we are promoting sustainable mobility and supporting our staff in this direction: 

Charging points: 180 charging points for electric vehicles at 12 sites in France, and similar initiatives in other countries. 

Alternatives to car: partnership in favor of carpooling, showers and changing rooms in sites, self-service bike stations, car2go app in Germany, and partnerships in Italy to promote car sharing and public transport. 

Responsible sourcing

We ensure that we have a supply chain aligned with our commitments and raise awareness among our suppliers of the need to transform to meet environmental challenges. The responsible purchasing approach in France has been evaluated at level 3 of the ISO 20400 AFNOR label. 

03 Our Proposals ♻

Waste reduction and sorting

we raise awareness among employees about waste sorting and reduction actions, regularly updating internal processes. 

Reuse of computer equipment

we donate to associations. In 2023, in France, 2.93 tons of WEEE were collected.

Water and biodiversity

we set up local partnerships with the aim of local cooperation and employee awareness.
