ALTEN China Joins Stellantis Changsha R&D Center Launch
May 28,2025

On May 21, the launch ceremony of the Stellantis Changsha R&D Center and the inaugural Automotive Eco-Tech Summit were held in Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone. The event brought together leading OEMs, new energy technology companies, and key players across the automotive value chain to explore collaborative innovation in the evolving new energy vehicle (NEV) landscape. As a long-term strategic partner of Stellantis, ALTEN China was honored to attend and witness this milestone moment.

Formed by the merger of PSA Group and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Stellantis is now the world’s fourth-largest automotive manufacturer, with a portfolio of 14 iconic brands including Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, Peugeot, and Citroën. The establishment of its R&D center in Changsha marks a significant step in integrating global innovation resources and deepening its presence in the Chinese market.

The Changsha R&D Center will operate under a “core enterprise + ecosystem partners” model, focusing on global model development and local adaptation. Key areas include intelligent connectivity, new energy propulsion systems, and autonomous driving technologies. Currently, the center has engaged five ecosystem partners and assembled a team of over 450 R&D professionals. With a planned total investment exceeding CNY 1 billion, the center aims to expand its workforce to over 2,000 people in the coming years.

ALTEN China remains committed to driving innovation through technology. With proven expertise in embedded software, vehicle integration, electrification systems, and functional safety, we actively support our partners in their transition to electric and intelligent mobility. Our participation in this event underscores the strength and depth of our long-standing partnership with Stellantis and further enhances our strategic alignment in global automotive development.

Looking ahead, ALTEN China will continue to leverage its global engineering network and integrate resources across China and Europe to empower partners in building world-class R&D capabilities. We look forward to collaborating with more ecosystem players to explore new models of open innovation and shared success, contributing to Changsha’s emergence as a key hub in the global automotive R&D landscape.

Together with our partners, ALTEN China is paving the way toward an intelligent and connected mobility era — developed in Changsha, applied across the world.
