ALTEN partnered with a leading automotive safety supplier to develop one of the smallest integrated front-camera ADAS, analyzing and HIL-testing 15+ features across thousands of test cases, including virtual driving scenarios.

Challenges

Developing next-generation camera-based ADAS presents multiple technical and operational challenges:

• Complex feature set: Over 15 new features required development and validation across thousands of test cases;
• Tight timelines: Rapid ramp-up needed to align multiple sites and teams;
• Coordination across locations: Development spanned multiple countries and sites, requiring synchronized processes and standardized project management;
• HIL and virtual testing: Ensuring reliable Hardware-in-the-Loop testing and simulation-based validation.

ALTEN provided end-to-end support, adding value through structured processes and multi-site collaboration:

• Pre-Project Consulting & Task Force: Analyzed and aligned customer needs, defined resources, roles, and infrastructure to set up the optimal ramp-up scenario before project kick-off;
• Multi-Site Delivery Process: Within a short 5-week preparation period, ALTEN deployed over 50 engineers across Germany, Poland, and Morocco, including nearshore delivery centers led by ALTEN’s standardized project management close to the customer;
• Agile Development & Optimization: Development teams across Europe collaborated in a SCRUM-based environment, including SCRUM training and flexible team sizing to optimize workload and efficiency;
• HIL and Virtual Testing: Executed automated test procedures and virtual drive scenarios to validate system functionality and performance.
