Job Requirements

1. Identify new technologies and suppliers, and evaluate new suppliers during the design concept phase:

• Identify new technologies required for new designs;
• Understand product design/functionality to guide the selection of design solutions for available technologies (technical requirements, cost, service life, etc.);
• Provide local market intelligence and project requirements to develop sourcing strategies through the China Commodity Core Team;
• Coordinate with the quality team and strategic sourcing team to identify, select and evaluate new suppliers in accordance with the SSQM process.

2. Implement procurement/supplier strategies:

• Guide the development team in selecting appropriate suppliers;
• Align procurement strategies with those of the strategic sourcing team for each commodity;
• Execute procurement strategies through supplier mapping;
• Minimize the occurrence of any monopolistic situations.

3. Engage suppliers at an early stage:

• Leverage suppliers" expertise to optimize "design for manufacturing";
• Support value analysis through the comparison of functionality and cost.

4. Manage BOM cost and contracts:

• Conduct cost estimations;
• Obtain and analyze supplier quotations;
• Monitor and ensure material costs are competitive to meet product target costs;
• Negotiate all procurement terms and conditions (quality/delivery/cost/service);
• Develop contracts for strategic parts and components.

5. Manage product/component project management:

• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional/global teams to develop and follow up on project plans;
• Manage supplier performance considering factors such as delivery time and quality, and continuously monitor improvements;
• Ensure the quality and on-time completion of deliverables for procurement projects.
