Welding Process Engineer

Responsibilities
1. Develop welding processes (spot, MIG/MAG, laser, friction, etc.); create WPS/PQR.
2. Optimize parameters (current, voltage, speed, gas) to improve quality (penetration, strength, appearance) and efficiency.
3. Resolve welding defects (porosity, cracks, distortion); ensure ≥98% product yield.
4. Design welding fixtures; collaborate on automated systems (vision-guided, laser tracking).
5. Research welding techniques for materials (HS steel, Al, dissimilar metals - e.g., CMT, SPR, FSW).
6. Evaluate/implement new technologies (laser, electron beam welding).
7. Ensure compliance with standards (ISO 3834, AWS D1.1, EN 15085).
8. Lead PQR, welder certification, process audits (e.g., VDA 6.3).
9. Collaborate with design on DFM; support production in resolving process issues.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor"s degree in Welding, Materials Forming, Mechanical Manufacturing, or related field.
2. 5+ years welding process development experience (automotive/aerospace/heavy industry/electrical equipment).
3. Proficient in welding simulation (SYSWELD, Simufact Welding) and data analysis (Minitab).
4. Expertise in ≥2 welding processes (resistance, arc, laser); skilled in defect analysis.
5. Familiar with APQP process.
6. Fluent English reading/writing; speaking/listening preferred.
