Exploring AI’s Impact—Stories, challenges, and real-world outcomes
Artificial Intelligence is no longer science fiction—today, it drives transformative change across industries, communities, and daily routines. From streamlining business processes to enhancing creativity and decision-making, AI is becoming an indispensable partner. Yet, at its core, the story of AI is about people: how it empowers us, opens new opportunities, and challenges us to imagine the future differently.
The power of collaboration: Humans and AI
The most compelling AI stories arise from the intersection of people and technology. As AI becomes an integral part of workplaces and society, it enables individuals and organisations to solve challenges in previously impossible ways. Across sectors, AI helps teams work more intelligently, break down barriers, and harness insights from vast data sets.
Recent initiatives highlight this collaboration: AI-driven predictive maintenance in manufacturing reduces waste and environmental impact, while conversational AI assistants transform project management and customer service. In every case, humans use AI as a tool to augment expertise, make decisions, and focus on creative, high-value work.
Tech Week & Tech A Seat: A space for innovation and learning
Recently, two recurring ALTEN events placed Artificial Intelligence centre stage. Tech Week—a series of internal live sessions and workshops—brought employees together to explore tech topics in depth. The October 2025 edition focused entirely on AI, creating webinars and open discussions about current trends and the future of artificial intelligence.

As part of the Tech Week agenda, we hosted a new edition of Tech A Seat through a LinkedIn Live event: “Engineering the Future: How AI Is Redesigning Industry”.
Participants exchanged practical experiences, debated ethical challenges, and explored how to harness AI responsibly for positive change.

Gualtiero Bazzana, CAIO & Executive Director at ALTEN
"We recognise that AI is moving so quickly. There are many challenges, many items to address, from technology to governance, from innovation to training."

Guillaume Bour, Head of Enterprise EMEA, Mistral AI
"When it comes to bringing AI into industrial processes, it"s not just about models. It"s about having a complex engine, developing front ends, having enterprise capabilities... For instant access management, observability, models customisation. And this is way more complex than just operating models."

Frederic Pascal, Professor at CentraleSupélec, Director of the DATAIA Institute & Vice-President of AI at Paris-Saclay University
"There is a very strong connection between training, education, and then adoption."
The ongoing nature of Tech Week and Tech A Seat underscores a larger movement: making AI accessible, promoting open exchange, and encouraging lifelong learning. By gathering people both virtually and in-person, these events foster new ideas and strengthen a vibrant community of AI practitioners.
Building AI literacy and community
AI’s greatest promise lies in our ability to learn from one another and adapt. Events like Tech Week—where employees, experts, and thought leaders gather regularly to explore the latest in AI—demonstrate the value of collective learning and shared experience. Practical workshops and live panels spark conversations about generative AI in banking, code automation, and navigating the ethical dilemmas posed by emerging technologies.
This culture of collaboration extends well beyond a single company or event—it"s about building a community where ideas, opportunities, and best practices can thrive.
AI in action: Real-world case studies
What does AI look like on the ground? Case studies from recent projects show just how varied and impactful these solutions can be:
- Manufacturing: Predictive maintenance powered by AI has shifted operations from reactive to proactive quality control, reducing errors and minimising environmental impact.
- Corporate Intelligence: Generative AI assistants are accelerating project bidding and boosting accuracy across organisations.
- Healthcare: AI-powered triage tools help prioritise patient complaints, improving outcomes and streamlining resources.
- Energy: AI-driven monitoring is optimising maintenance and efficiency in renewable energy sectors.
- Customer Service: Intelligent bots are simplifying support, cutting costs, and improving satisfaction scores.
Each example is a testament to how AI can solve practical problems and elevate human capabilities.
Navigating the challenges: Ethics, skills, and the road ahead
Rapid advances in AI also bring new questions: How do we ensure responsible use, safeguard privacy, and evolve our skills for a technology-driven world? Open dialogue—like those during Tech Week and Tech A Seat’s panels—remains key to meeting these challenges.

Caroline Lair, Founder of The Good AI & Co-Founder of Women in AI
"I think we need to empower employees, inspire them about using AI, while also making them like, have a sense of responsibility when using it."
The future of AI will be shaped by how well we balance technological power with human values, keeping collaboration and ethics at the forefront.
Embracing positive change with AI
Artificial Intelligence is more than a tool—it’s a source of innovation, connection, and sustainable progress. Whether you’re an engineer, a healthcare provider, or a business leader, the AI journey is open to all. Through shared stories, dynamic events, and practical collaboration, we can build a future where AI works alongside us for the greater good.

Josep Salom, AI Technical Lead at ALTEN & "ALTEN Tech Week" Speaker
"Our role at ALTEN is not just to be spectators of this change, but to be the architects of applied intelligence. Let"s focus on finding the crux, building what truly matters, and providing wisdom that turns technology into lasting value."
