ALTEN China at the 2026 ATC Automotive Autonomous Driving Safety & Testing Technology Summit
2026-09-28
On September 23, the 2026 ATC Automotive Autonomous Driving Safety & Testing Technology Summit was held in Shanghai. Invited by the organizer, ALTEN China attended the event together with CIeNET, a subsidiary of the ALTEN Group, engaging with industry stakeholders on the latest developments and challenges in autonomous driving safety and testing.
Hosted by the ATC Automotive Technology Platform, this year’s summit focused on key topics including simulation credibility, complex scenario coverage, compliance adaptation for overseas markets, and safety boundary definition. OEMs, system integrators, sensing hardware providers, and testing and validation companies gathered to explore the technical challenges and collaboration opportunities emerging as the industry moves from L2+ toward L3 automated driving.

Multi-Domain Automotive Engineering Capabilities
ALTEN China offers engineering capabilities spanning multiple domains and stages of automotive development. At the vehicle and system levels, its services cover vehicle project management, electrical and electronic (E/E) system design and validation, and engineering services related to vehicle certification. Its specialized engineering capabilities also extend to powertrain analysis, color, material and finish (CMF) design, and crash safety research, providing global automotive manufacturers with engineering and consulting support across different stages of the product development lifecycle.
Deep Expertise in Software-Defined Chassis and ADAS
In the areas of intelligent chassis and ADAS, ALTEN China has established multidisciplinary teams covering intelligent chassis domain controller software development, AUTOSAR toolchain integration, hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) testing, and functional safety standards support, helping customers accelerate the integration and development of software-defined chassis systems.
As an AUTOSAR Premium Partner, ALTEN China was involved in the establishment of the AUTOSAR China Center. Its experience with AUTOSAR standards continues to be applied to intelligent chassis domain controller development and toolchain integration projects.
Multi-Level Validation from Simulation to Real-Vehicle Testing
As intelligent driving technologies move toward large-scale production, improving testing efficiency, expanding scenario coverage, and ensuring system safety have become critical to the successful deployment of intelligent driving functions. For the development and validation of intelligent connected and automated driving systems, ALTEN China provides engineering capabilities covering different testing stages and levels of validation.
For functional validation, its capabilities cover ADAS functions including Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Centering Control (LCC), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), and Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), as well as NCAP-related testing. These capabilities span simulation, hardware-in-the-loop (HiL), test bench validation, proving ground testing, and large-scale road testing, supporting multi-level validation from components and systems through to the complete vehicle.
For complex automated driving systems, the team has experience in system integration, calibration, and testing and validation. It can support test scenario design, test case execution, and validation result analysis across different functions and traffic environments. By leveraging test data for issue identification and iterative optimization, the team establishes an engineering validation workflow that connects test execution with issue resolution and closure.
By covering multiple levels of testing—from simulation to real-vehicle testing and from components to systems—ALTEN China can provide testing and validation support tailored to different development stages and validation requirements, helping automotive manufacturers advance intelligent driving functions from development and validation toward series production and real-world deployment.
Expanding Smart Cockpit Certification Capabilities
In the smart cockpit domain, CIeNET, the ALTEN Group subsidiary, is a Google-certified third-party laboratory (3PL). Its capabilities cover certification testing for Android Automotive OS, vehicles with Google built-in, and Android Auto projection, supporting automotive manufacturers in compliance testing and certification processes related to smartphone projection and built-in services.
Deepening Collaboration in Automotive Engineering and Testing
ALTEN China’s participation in the summit further demonstrated its technical capabilities and relevant qualifications in automotive engineering, intelligent driving, and testing and validation. As the automotive industry addresses the testing and validation challenges associated with the large-scale deployment of automated driving technologies, ALTEN China will continue to leverage its automotive engineering and testing capabilities, deepen technical exchange and collaboration with partners across the automotive value chain, and support the engineering implementation of safety and testing technologies for intelligent driving.
