Job Responsibilities
-
Based on the production plan and BOM, break down requirements to the material level and calculate material requirement quantities and timing.

Run MRP in SAP/Oracle systems, generate and release purchase requisitions/orders.

Maintain planning parameters in material master data (safety stock, lead time, reorder point, etc.).
-
Interface with dozens of suppliers (including overseas suppliers); follow up on order confirmation, production progress and shipment arrangements.

Track supplier delivery status daily, identify shortage risks and provide early warning at least 2 weeks in advance.

Expedite delayed orders (urging, phone/email follow-up, escalation).

Conduct daily root cause investigations for shortages (supplier causes, logistics causes, planning causes, etc.).
-
Coordinate with Quality, Receiving, Warehouse and other departments to handle incoming material discrepancies (shortage, damage, documentation issues).

Manage material introduction/phase-out (NPI/EOL) and control the risk of obsolete and slow-moving materials.

Monitor inventory levels and drive improvement of inventory turnover.

Collaborate with Production, Quality, Warehouse, Purchasing, Engineering and other departments to ensure smooth material supply.

Work with the Purchasing department and participate in supplier delivery performance reviews.

Follow up on international logistics progress, customs clearance documents, and resolution of delivery exceptions.
Requirements
Basic Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree or above (or associate degree plus 3+ years of material/production planning experience).
-
3+ years of experience in material planning, production scheduling, or supply chain related roles.
-
Familiar with BOM structure and the logic of breaking down material requirements.
-
Proficient in using ERP systems (at least one of SAP or Oracle).
-
Proficient in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
-
Fluent in English reading and writing; speaking ability sufficient for daily work communication (required for interacting with overseas suppliers).
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience in medical device, electronics, or equipment manufacturing industries.
-
Experience managing multiple categories and a large number of suppliers (50+).
-
Experience dealing with overseas suppliers and international logistics.
-
APICS CPIM/CSCP certification.
-
Six Sigma Green Belt.
